Alamosa High School: Home of the Mean Moose

Alamosa High School, located at 805 Craft Drive, is renowned for its robust athletics program. The school’s teams, known as the Mean Moose, have a storied history of success. Competing in the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), the Mean Moose have secured multiple state championships across various sports. Notably, the wrestling team has clinched ten state titles, with victories spanning from 1988 to 2013. The boys’ basketball team also boasts five state championships, including a remarkable four-year consecutive streak from 1989 to 1992.

Individually, ASU athletes have earned 268 national titles and 1,937 All-American honors.
